Motorcycles and Poppies. Most of my work is done in the studio but I have spent countless hours traveling and taking photographs of possible paintings. "Glacier Park Poppies" was a motorcycle trip to Glacier Park in Montana. My husband and I rode our motorcycles from Indiana to Glacier Park with the agreement that we had to stop when I saw a possible painting! We stayed at the Glacier Park lodge which was built by the Great Northern Railway. The gardens at the Lodge were established right after the lodge opened. The beds are enormous, stretching more than the length of a football field. The air is so pure that the colors are very vibrant and that is what I was trying to capture in this painting. On a side note my husband still talks about all the stops that we had to make for pictures.
